| Kindle 3 was a group research project based on a current design opportunity. As a group, we found that recent trends towards the digitization of text was a strong opportunity to collect user data and streamline the interactive experience. Our research focused on an existing digital reading device, the Kindle, and potential solutions to its current design. (In collaboration with Hanah Ho and Allison Tran) |

The final product of the project was a 17" x 22" poster

The poster detailed our research and proposed redesign

3 weeks were spent interviewing, observing and recording subject interactions with the current and past devices

The redesign took place entirely in the interface with the introduction of a color touchscreen option with simplified icons.

A new feature was proposed to allow for loaning books for a predermined amount of time to another Kindle user

The touchscreen technology, based on existing and future technologies, allows for a much more intuitive interaction.

In addition to the poster, findings were displayed in a series of videos detailing our interviews with various text groups.
